Kareth Schaffer
KARETH SCHAFFER ist Choreografin und Performerin und lebt und arbeitet in Berlin, Deutschland. Sie praktiziert einen erweiterten Choreografiebegriff: Bisher hat sie in ihren Tanzstücken Prophezeiungen, Schlammcatchen, Thriller, Synchronschwimmen, Foley, Angela Merkel, Emojis, alte Klosterpraktiken und Gesprächsformate unter die Lupe genommen. Ihre Arbeiten wurden in Berlin (Sophiensæle, Tanzfabrik, HAU, Uferstudios, Ballhaus Ost), Amsterdam (Het Veemtheater), Düsseldorf (tanzhaus NRW), Essen (PACT Zollverein), Malmö, Hamburg (Kampnagel), Denpasar (CushCush Gallery) und Mexico City gezeigt. Kareth Schaffer wurde vom Jahrbuch Tanz als „New Talent 2016“ ausgezeichnet und zur „Tänzerin des Jahres 2018“ nominiert. Außerdem wurde sie 2018 mit dem Pina Bausch Fellowship in Kooperation mit dem Mekar Bhuana Center in Denpasar, Bali ausgezeichnet. Schaffer arbeitet gerne mit und für andere Künstler*innen wie deufert&plischke, Tino Sehgal, Stefanie Wenner, Yvon Chabrowski, Christian Falsnaes, Tomomi Adachi, Dragana Bulut, und Barbara Berti.
