Das Festival
Seit 1996 präsentieren die Tanztage Berlin innovative und genreüberschreitende Arbeiten Berliner Künstler*innen im Bereich zeitgenössischer Tanz, Choreografie und Performance. Seit 2001 durch die Sophiensæle produziert, bietet die Plattform eine einzigartige Gelegenheit für den breit definierten choreografischen Nachwuchs der Stadt und frisch in Berlin angekommene Künstler*innen, um ihre Arbeit einem treuen lokalen und internationalen Publikum vorzustellen. Mit seinen 33 Ausgaben hat das Festival bereits vielfach bewiesen, was zu seiner DNA gehört: Es fördert künstlerisches Risiko, experimentelle Formate und Visionen, die nicht nur konventionelle Erzählungen über Tanz und Choreografie in Frage stellen, sondern auch stets die Rolle des Körpers in der zeitgenössischen Welt.
