Colleen Ndemeh Fitzgerald
Colleen Ndemeh Fitzgeraldist multidisziplinäre Performancekünstlerin, Aktivistin und Kulturarbeiterin mit Wurzeln in der Kpelle-Gemeinschaft (Liberia) und der irisch-amerikanischen Diaspora. Ihre bewegungsbasierte Praxis ist in afrodiasporischen, westafrikanischen und zeitgenössischen Tanztechniken verwurzelt und zentriert ihre feministische, antirassistische und antikoloniale Haltung. Sie hat einen BA in Tanz und Anthropologie vom Bates College (USA) sowie einen MA mit Auszeichnung in Performance von der Universität der Künste Berlin – HZT (Deutschland). Sie hat in Nord- und Südamerika, Westafrika und Europa performt und unterrichtet. Von 2014 bis 2019 lebte sie in Buenos Aires, Argentinien, wo sie sich künstlerisch und politisch in afrodiasporischen Communities engagierte. Dort war sie Mitbegründerin von Kukily, einem afrofeministischen Kunstkollektiv, das grenzübergreifend in den Bereichen Performance, audiovisuelle Medien, Installation und community-orientierte Projekte arbeitet. 2024 wurde Kukily zur Lagos Biennale eingeladen.
