About

Tanztage Berlin has been presenting innovative and cross-genre works by Berlin artists in the fields of contemporary dance, choreography and performance since 1996. Produced in by Sophiensæle since 2001, this platform is a unique opportunity for the city's broadly defined emerging choreographers and artists newly arrived in Berlin to present their work to a loyal local and international audience. With its 33 editions, the festival has already proven many times what is part of its DNA: it promotes artistic risk, experimental formats and visions that not only question conventional narratives about dance and choreography, but also always the role of the body in the contemporary world.
