It's All Forgotten Now AD
Dance meets music, film, video and spoken word: The Christoph Winkler Company is now showing its performative homage to Mark Fisher as a video on demand film version in English with German audio description.
With his legendary blog K-Punk, the British cultural scientist and pop theorist Mark Fisher shaped an entire generation of pop-affine capitalism critics. In his texts on little-known music, contemporary films and books, he claimed society a cultural exhaustion syndrome and criticized the widespread view that there was no longer any alternative to capitalist reality: You can imagine the end of the world, but not the end of capitalism?
Barely three years after Mark Fisher's suicide in 2017, the Christoph Winkler Company is now approaching some concepts of his theory, which express themselves not only politically but also aesthetically: For example "Hauntology", i.e. ideas and theories that haunt the present like ghosts from the past, or "the Weird & the Eerie", the strange, not to be confused with the terrible. With a performative mixtape of music, film, dance and spoken-word texts by Mark Fisher himself, among others, the company creates an homage to one of the greatest pop-cultural contemporary diagnosticians of our time.
The audio description will be in German and will be made by Xenia Taniko. For further information please contact Gina Jeske at jeske@sophiensaele.com or 030 27 89 00 35.
