JANUARY 12 | GENDER BENDER FESTIVAL | TALK AFTER THE PERFORMANCE | IN ENGLISH

In the talk on January 12 the two festival directors and theatre makers Shiva Pathak and Nimi Ravindran from the artist collective Sandbox Collective will present their festival. For five years now, Gender Bender has been showcasing diverse kinds of art from all over the world concentrating on gender, sexuality and identity.

AN EVENING OF LAVANI

This year Tanztage Berlin welcome the interdisciplinary art festival Gender Bender from Bangalore in South India as their guest and present a performance: An Evening of Lavani. Music, dance, songs and stories – the traditional dance form Lavani is mostly performed by women and has often been considered adult entertainment for men. This evening brings a contemporary context to the dance and promises to turn the male gaze upside down.
